Daniel, Oshiomhole, Ahmed congratulate Imoke on re-election

Former governor of Ogun State, Chief Gbenga Daniel, has described the re-election of Senator Liyel Imoke as governor of Cross River State as a reward for good governance.

Chief Daniel, while reacting to the landslide victory of Imoke, said the people of the state simply reciprocated the good governance of Senator Imoke by voting for him massively during last Saturday’s gubernatorial election.

Chief Daniel said, during his first term, Senator Imoke deepened good governance in the state and touched the
lives of the people through meaningful policies and projects.

"I want to congratulate Senator Liyel Imoke on his well deserved victory. From the massive vote he garnered during the election, it is obvious that he has earned the confidence and support of the people through his impactful governance in the last four years.

"I trust that the governor will redouble his efforts and ensure the consolidation of the gains of his first term. I am sure that, given the track record of the senator, he will not disappoint the people and will further redouble his efforts to make Cross River a leading state in Nigeria," he said.

Also congratulating Senator Imoke and the Bayelsa State governor,Rt Honourable Seriaki Dickson,Edo State governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole,assured them of the full support of the people and government of Edo State.

In separate congratulatory letters to the governors, Governor Oshiomhole said, "on my part, I look forward to a healthy partnership with you in furtherance of our shared quest for the uplifting of our region and in the overall development of our nation."

To the Cross River State governor, he said: "your victory is a resounding renewal of popular confidence in your leadership. It is a mark of faith by the people of your state not only in your ability to sustain the progress made in your first tenure, but also to chart a new course of development in other vital spheres.

In another development, Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara State has felicitated with the newly-inaugurated executive members of the University of Ilorin branch of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), under the chairmanship of Dr Wahab Egbewole, Dean of the Faculty of Law.

The governor, in a congratulatory message to the new chairman and other members of his executive team on their well deserved appointment, made available to journalists in Ilorin, on Monday, asked them to justify the confidence reposed in them by their colleagues.
